MICRO~DEVO 3/17/2014 “Evil Tattoos!”

The only place tattoos are mentioned in the Bible is in the context of an act of Baal worship in which people would worship the dead by shaving their heads and tattooing marks upon themselves indicating their worship of Baal. This has nothing to do with the body art we see people with today… Nor does the verse about shaving your beard, wearing cotton blend clothes or cutting your hair. We should be more concerned with the condition of someone’s soul than the tattoo on their skin or their pierced ears.

I forbid you to shave any part of your head or beard or to cut and tattoo yourself as a way of worshiping the dead. (Leviticus 19:27, 28 CEV)
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7 NLT)
